| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify key success factors vital for the success of poverty reduction interventions. This was prompted by high poverty levels in Zambia despite poverty reduction programs in place. Methodology: Content and thematic analysis was used to review literature particularly on studies done in countries which recorded success in poverty reduction such as China. Findings: The identified key factors were high inclusive growth, low inequality, innovative tailor made poverty reduction interventions and adequate/significant level of intervention and coverage. Zambia poverty reduction strategies were devoid of these factors resulting in constrained effectiveness of the interventions. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Architects of poverty reduction interventions should therefore strive to ensure that the identified key success factors for poverty reduction are incorporated for interventions to be effective. | |
